How Can I Reinvent Myself?
Show Notes Transcript

Only when we are not living completely authentically, and only when we misidentify with our mind-made versions of ourselves, can we wish to reinvent ourselves. The real question is, "How can I live more in line with my inner nature?"

We all know the experience where we are so in our head, planning and plotting what to say or how to act, that we become insecure. When we become insecure, we're not being true to ourselves. Instead, we are living in fear of what we will say and how it will be perceived. The key to being natural, being magnetic, and being charismatic, is when we remove that pressure from ourselves and when we can relax and just be.

In this episode, I share some secrets on how we can become the best version of ourselves. By being mindful, instead of being fearful, we can instinctively and effortlessly respond to any situation in the way that specific moment calls for — not some imagined moment because we're too in our head to be fully present.

Please enjoy other episodes where I share meditation techniques, tips and spiritual lessons from around the world for peaceful and stress-free living. Remember to subscribe to stay up-to-date.

The path to peace, love, health, and happiness starts here

0:48
There are many ways one can reinvent themselves.

0:57
You can change your name, change careers, rebrand, all sorts of things you can study a person who you want to emulate, and absorb yourself completely in that person.

1:24
But at the heart of that question, is really, how can I be the best version of myself.

1:37
Because if you study someone else, no matter how hard you try, that other person will still be better at being themselves than you will ever be.

1:52
And the way true greatness is achieved, is not from copying. And it's not from faking. It is from becoming your most authentic, true self, which is to say that you that is free from all the bad habits, all the negative thinking, all the being trapped in lost in your thoughts, and constantly second guessing yourself, questioning your word choice and your behavior and to be fully confident and present. So that in each moment, you respond with your highest wisdom, not out of fear, but out of present awareness.

3:05
When we tap into that flow state of being fully present and engaged with the world, we are more relaxed, and casual and natural in conversations.

3:21
And that comfort we have with ourselves translates to everyone else as confidence. When we are stuck in our thought habits, we are going to keep creating the exact same situations in our lives, we're going to make the same choices. And we're going to not ever be able to grow or be the person we wish to be.

3:57
But when we are mindful of every situation, of ourselves of our own thoughts.

4:07
Only then do we have a choice to make something new, to break free from our conditioning, from our trauma, from anything from our past that has weighed us down. And in each moment, we can be the person we wish to be.

4:30
And in any situation we find ourselves in, we can come in fully mindful and say I'm going to be fully aware and fully present. And then after a few seconds, we get comfortable and we forget to be present and we slip right into our old habits and patterns.

4:53
But the good news is, mindfulness is like a muscle. And like any muscle, we can train In it, and it can get stronger. And in meditation is exactly that process. And that is what we're doing in meditation, we are practicing, being mindful of our breath, noticing, when our attention shifts away, and we've lost focus, and we're back in lost in thought. And then we bring our attention back to our breath, or mantra, or whatever object we're using to meditate on.

5:34
And over time, we will be focusing on our breath. And we'll be able to notice that we're about to lose our focus. And we can put extra attention on our breath in that moment. And we can, over time, make that period of mindfulness longer. And in that time, we give our brain arrest, as there's no thoughts because we're fully focused on the present moment.

6:09
And as our mind stops being so agitated, and so chaotic, our lives become less chaotic, and more focused. And whatever our intention is, with our lives, with ourselves, we can create through prolonged mindfulness, faking it till you make it is a great start. But it is only the start because over time, that takes a lot of effort. And it can come with a lot of disappointment, as we have that impostor syndrome, which is another negative trait that our ego creates.

6:59
But when we are fully present, and aware. Our highest wisdom kicks in rather than ignorance, where we are unaware of ourselves, our thoughts, words, actions, and those same things and others.

7:27
We can be the person that is necessary for the situation we're in. And that person, no matter what situation you're in, we'll be able to go through life handling whatever comes your way with ease.
