Hello, and thank you so much for listening to path to peace with Todd Perelmuter. I'm your host, Todd Perelmuter. And today, the question is, is five to 10 Minute Meditation effective? And the answer is just five to 10 seconds of meditation is effective. Just one moment of bringing your attention to the present moment, and setting down the weight and baggage of the past and the future. And just feeling that weight off your shoulders.

Because you're fully present, and there's nothing else but this moment, that can change your whole day. And that can lead to more moments of just a few seconds, throughout your day that you can remember that feeling and you can do it again. Anytime you can meditate is the best time to meditate. And for however long you can meditate is the right length of time for you.

And the benefits are infinite, five to 10 minutes is more than enough time to activate the rest, recovery heal relaxation state of the parasympathetic nervous system as opposed to the sympathetic nervous system, which is the when our body is in fight or flight mode. And it's ready to pounce or run away because of stress. And it doesn't know it's modern day stress. And we're not really in danger. And that stress, if it doesn't heal, and we don't activate the parasympathetic nervous system of healing and calm relaxation and releasing of the stress, then that long term stress turns into depression.

That is the body's response to fight or flight not being acted upon in chronic fight or flight response. And it is exhausting. And that's why frequently it's a lot of stress is followed by depression literally zaps us of energy. And so just five to 10 minutes is more than enough to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and allow our body to de stress and heal and process whatever it's gone through in the day, which doesn't have to be big, it could be traffic or it could be anything you were worried about or a loved one you're worried about.

Anything that generates stress inside has to be processed. And just a moment of meditation, but whatever is right for you, whatever you can do at this time is perfect. So more than enough time and five to 10 minutes. Hope that answers your question. Thank you so much for listening, peace and love.
